Balcony

I love this house.
It is my new habit, when the weather and childcare permit, to take a morning cup of tea onto the balcony.
I see the climbing roses need pruning back.

Gotta get a webcam.

Another relative just died.

Salsa magnificent!

The second salsa class of the term.  We've been promoted en masse to the 'improvers' class at 20:00, to join the 3 or 4 people who have been studying here with Melisa for years.  Last week we learned most of a new spinning move, and much of tonight's class was repeating it over and over again, at various speeds.  I danced with C, and with her help and kind toleration of my frequent mistakes, I got better and better.  By the end, we were doing this awesome move, reliably and quite well, at speed, integrated into a much longer routine which we learned before Christmas.
The new move reminds me a little of barn dancing.  The follower spins in (anti-clockwise) and out (clockwise) of what I would call a promenade hold.
It got rather hysterical half-way through the 90 minutes, as we persisted through it, again and again, while one or other of us was forgetting the steps, or the arm movements, or as we got out of phase with each other, during a particularly fast track.  The steps surrounding the move (mambo, pull-around, mambo, pull around, simple turn) are mostly clockwise, and with all the spinning we were both getting dizzy, and the floor was a bit of a blur....
Just fantastic.
