court tomorrow
Jul. 12th, 2007 04:39 pmTrying to work, but very preoccupied by the court hearing, tomorrow at 12:15. I think we're pretty close to agreeing, with maybe one or two issues outstanding. If we come out tomorrow with the areas of disagreement clearly limited to that, it'll be a considerable step forwards for both sides. It's possible that the court will order some complex and expensive paperwork, which I would rather avoid.
My lawyer tells me we should keep our powder dry, only answer questions as directed by the court, but that runs strongly against my instincts (which continue to be for openness and avoiding all conflict), so I instructed him to send answers and supporting documents directly over to the other side, before the hearing. And I have made yet another proposal for settlement, which (just conceivably) will wrap it all up tomorrow.
Thinking of buying a new suit to wear to court. It would at least give me something to do in the morning, when I will doubtless be fretting, and suffering from lack of sleep.
