Prince gig report
Aug. 4th, 2007 11:47 amKill for a ticket. Preferably two, with someone who can dance.
The man is a pocket funk god, the soul of style, the Prince of pop, with a stunning back catalogue (I wanted to burn a CD for the car for the drive down, and realized I had to burn two in order to fit just his unmissable tracks from my iTunes). Great light show, amazing stage presence, a superb band (real music, as he emphasized more than once), including a phenomenal saxophonist and of course virtuoso guitar-playing from Himself. Plus sexy dancers.
About half of the gig was classic Prince (Joy in Repetition, Purple Rain, Cream, Kiss, I Feel 4 U, U Got the Look, Let's Go Crazy, etc). The rest was a mix of newer stuff (the great "Guitar", from Planet Earth), and covers (Gnarls Barclay "Crazy", "Wonderful World", Wild Cherry's "Play that Funky Music", which was awesome).
Dress up, and dance! A great night out, very hot, very raunchy, very sexy, lots of fun. Nearly got my shirt ripped off by Katie at one point (luckily I undid all the buttons in time), and happily my ankle didn't bother me all evening. Received several complements on my boa. :-)
Go.
