Just heard from my lawyer, who has heard from the other party's:
1. We might well be able to settle at a figure based on one I proposed after the court hearing on 13th July (I added a round number to my previous offer, to sweeten the deal and avoid the paperwork hassle). I've agreed the figure and asked him to pursue settlement as quickly as possible.
2. Apparently I was "lurking across the street", and this has generated a complaint. The comedy of the idea of me lurking is only matched by the tragedy of the other party being prepared to spend legal fees pursuing it. Still, it's not (all) my money. I have replied with a potted summary of my side of the story, which hopefully will be an end of the matter.
